I didn’t start my journey using Coloplast SenSura Mio, but within 6 months I saw the light, well the light Coloplast grey that is. I switched because of a change to the materials in my previous brand was causing lifting, skin irritation and a lower quality bind.

Trialling SenSura Mio I was blown away by the comfort and security that I had found in the product. The decision to switch on a mechanical front was an easy one. But there was a slight catch.

My previous bag came in a couple of colour options one of which was black, something that I saw as stylish and confidence boosting. However, I knew that SenSura Mio was the product for me so there wasn’t any reluctance in switching over to using it. I liked the grey colour and how it blended into my skin. It is designed to reduce visibility under clothing and therefore give the user peace of mind and confidence, and I certainly found this.

But I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss the black bag option. So when I heard Coloplast were making my bag, the light convex drainable bag, available in black I leapt at the chance to try it out. It’s more than black. It’s about feeling like me again.

On a day-to-day basis I feel great wearing my SenSura Mio in black bag, it feels less like a medical device and more like a fashion accessory. The biggest plus for me personally is the discretion the black bag provides in water as I love swimming and often do not wear support garments, the appearance of the bag remains exactly the same and that feeling of style stays with me in the water as I swim.
