Coloplast Urostomy products update

We are now at the end of September and are pleased to say that the majority of our Urostomy products are now available. We are now in the process of building our stock levels and continue to work hard to ensure that the remaining products return to normal supply as soon as possible. We expect that by the end of October, we will have resumed normal supply cross the full range of Urostomy products.

We would like to reiterate our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to everyone who has been affected by this issue.

Coloplast Urostomy products

During August we made the decision to temporarily suspend the supply of most of our Urostomy products. We apologise to all our customers for the inconvenience this has caused, and also thank you for your understanding too.

What is the reason?

It’s down to quality. Some of the raw materials that were supplied to us that go into making the plastic film on the inside of our Urostomy products simply did not meet our high quality standards. There are no issues related to any of the other parts that make up the products. 

Ensuring our products are of the highest quality is one of our top priorities. We wanted to be sure that the products that had been manufactured using these materials did not make it to market because we didn’t want the products to fall short of our customers’ expectations. 

What product ranges are affected?

This issue is solely confined to our Urostomy products. We appreciate there are concerns from others using products in our other ranges, however we can confirm our range of closed, drainable (open), and accessory products are unaffected and remain available. 

This is a temporary issue and does not mean we are permanently ceasing supply of our Urostomy ranges. We can also confirm that there are no plans to remove any of our products from the market. 

When will it be resolved?

The issue has been corrected and the good news is we can expect products to be available again soon. Newly finished products are being produced right now and we can expect to begin supplying orders over the next few weeks. We expect the majority of products to return to normal supply by the end of September. 

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to everyone who has been affected by this issue.
